With great sadness we report the tragic passing of one of our industry’s best. Debbie Hart, owner of the Artworks Art & Frame in Excelsior, MN was killed in a car crash on Tuesday April 9th. Artist & Craftsman Supply, headquartered in Portland, Maine, announced its 19th store location in the Harlem area of New York city. The 8,000 square foot store will be opening early July 2013 and according to CEO Larry Adlerstein, “the new store adjoins Columbia University in an area where there are no other art suppliers within miles. There are literally millions of people here who are art supply deprived. I hope we can ease their pain.”

Wayne Brooke the former buyer and operations manager at Central Florida Office Plus in Gainesville, FL died Thursday April 5 from complications of cancer, cancer treatment, and pneumonia. He was  57 years old.

Bringing Urban Art to School:  Montana Artist Collective member REYES teamed up with Jake Hodgson, principal at Bayshore Elementary School in Daly City, CA on an effort to brighten up and beautify the school campus with a vibrant mural.  The otherwise nondescript building was transformed using Montana BLACK, giving it a cheerful face lift.  Check out the time lapse video to see the mural in process!
