If you have a display of children’s drawing products with markers, crayons, colored pencils etc., consider adding the new children’s drawing books from Walter Foster. Disney•Pixar promotes their brands and characters through movies, consumer products, and fast food tie-ins, making them highly recognizable with widespread exposure. Walter Foster has developed books on drawing the characters in their movies, DVDs, and TV events to take advantage of the Disney character recognition. The undisputed leader of our licensed titles is Learn to Draw Mickey Mouse and His Friends, item # FODS01.
The number two licensed title year-to-date is our new Learn to Draw WALL-E, item # FODC27M, which features the characters from the new Disney•Pixar movie that opened in theaters June 27th. If you haven’t added WALL-E, Ratatouille, or Cars to your kids assortment you’re missing out on the excitement only Disney can generate and sales that might just grow into long-term customers.
Of course licensed titles are not the only children’s drawing books on a growth spurt. The Draw and Color Series is appropriate for children six years and older. There are subjects ranging from Horses and Ponies our number one seller in this series, to Insects our newest title, to titles on many other popular subjects like Pets, Dinosaurs and Sea Creatures, just to name a few. Parents like to encourage their child’s creativity. These books also promote an understanding of the subjects with “fun facts” that are a feature of these books.
With preparations underway for the fall back-to-school sales, I frequently receive requests for display recommendations on the How to Draw and Paint, Artist’s Library, and Drawing Made Easy books. If you need some recommendations, please feel free to e-mail me at danw@walterfoster.com and I’ll send you display suggestions for waterfall racks or FORSP-5 spinner racks. By giving your Walter Foster assortments a tune-up you can expect better sales performance down the road.
