Dick Blick announced it is acquiring Primary Art Supply, an art materials icon located in Savannah, GA. Primary Art was opened in 1996 by two Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) students, Amy Spurlock and Robyn Reeder. Blick‘s new Savannah superstore is near the SCAD library at318 E. Dallas-based account manager Bud Mundt has left Sanford. Sanford‘s West coast sales representative, Pete Ridge, has been promoted to National Account Manager and will continue to have responsibility for the MacPherson’s account. Congratulations to Pete, who will be re-locating from San Diego to Dallas, TX.
Sally Grimes has left Sanford to become the Chief Innovation Officer at Sara Lee Corp. Most recently, Grimes was Sanford’s global vice president, responsible for the marketing, writing and creative expression business unit at Newell Rubbermaid, Inc. She had been responsible for implementing marketing planning and filling the innovation pipeline for the Sharpie, Paper Mate, Expo, Prismacolor and Rolodex brands.
The family owned C-Thru Ruler has sold its non-craft brands — rulers, lettering, and drafting supplies — to Acme United, to concentrate on its paper crafting division which consists of Little Yellow Bicycle, Deja Views, and Art-C brands. The 73 year old company will change its name to Little Yellow Bicycle.
